According to a new survey, Eden Hazard is regarded as the second most valuable player in world football.
The midfielder has been valued at least £7 million more than the Real Madrid’s striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
The report of the International Centre for Sports Studies says that the Chelsea player is worth between £99 million and £110 million while the Real Madrid forward has a value of between £83 million and £92 million.
The reason behind the valuations is probably down to the age of both sportsmen. While England’s player of the year Hazard is 24, Ronaldo is 30.
Ronaldo, who won the Ballon d’Or only five months ago, has been ranked lower than Hazard despite scoring 61 goals in 50 appearances across Real Madrid’s three main competitions last season.
Meanwhile, Barcelona’s football star Lionel Messi in some distance ahead, valued at over €250m.
Champions League winner Neymar, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Paul Pogba are also amongst the most expensive players on the planet.
