The immediate past Registrar of the Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, has stated that he left the Board better than he met it withing the nine years he has been in charge. He disclosed this during a dinner organised to honour him in Abuja. According to him, his achievements could only be built upon by the new JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.
He urged the management of the board to continue to work towards keeping the philosophy on which JAMB was established. “I feel good that I am leaving JAMB better than we all met it that time. I am sure the person who has come to takeover is going to be as good if not better than I am. “I feel good that I am leaving JAMB better than we all met it that time. There is no other thing I want to do and that is why God says it is time for me to leave. That is it. No more.”
He said He dispelled the rumours that he was sacked due to the 2016 admission list that was later retrieved; stating that he was not the only one that was sacked so it does not make sense for anyone to say he was sacked because of that.
On the issue of reverting to Paper and Pencil Test, Ojerinde said that it would be tantamount to taking one step forward and two steps backwards.
